FRANCO PINNA - drums
Argentinean drummer and percussionist Franco Pinna has earned a unique status and reputation in the New York Musical scene. Having performed and recorded with multiple Grammy Award winners and top artists in the Latin scene, Mr. Pinna delivers his unique approach and mastery, utilizing his own drum set created from traditional Argentinean folkloric drums, together with conventional elements from the drum set. He has collaborated with Paquito D'Rivera, Gustavo Casenave, Pablo Ziegler, Fernando Huergo, Sofia Rei, Marta Gomez, Sofia Tosello, Hiroya Tsukamoto, Juancho Herrera, Yulia Musayelyan, Claudia Acuña, Pedro Giraudo, Mika Pohjola, Oscar Stagnaro, Marta Topferova, Claudio Ragazzi, ,Gregorio Uribe ,Manu Sija, Quique Sinesi, and Toño Arnedo, among many others. He has extensively toured worldwide at venues such as Royal Albert Hall, (BBC proms ), Tokyo Jazz Festival, The Blue Note, London Queen Elisabeth Hall, Jazz Royale in Thailand, The Vienna Jazz Festival, The Hague jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival. and many other venues in Japan, Korea , Vietnam, Thailand , Spain, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Germany , Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg , Hungary, Rumania , Macau, Greece, Israel, Denmark, Finland, Sweeden, Austria, Switzerland, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala and Panama.
PEDRO GIRAUDO -bass
Latin Grammy Award winner bassist and composer Pedro Giraudo is among the most compelling tango artists today. After two decades performing with the most important interpreters of tango, Pedro Giraudo debuted his own Tango Orchestra at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing in July 2015 and since then has become an active cultural ambassador of this beautiful and passionate music of his native Argentina. As a composer and arranger, Giraudo leads his own jazz and tango ensembles and has been hailed by critics as one of the most creative and daring bandleaders on the scene today. His compositions combine his love of classical forms, Argentine tango and folk music, and the spontaneity of jazz improvisation. The band, which boasts some of New York’s finest musicians, has performed regularly in the most prestigious jazz clubs in the New York City area, including the Jazz Standard, Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Blue Note, Joe’s Pub, as well as abroad. John Murph of Downbeat described Giraudo’s music as “an opulent listening experience of modern, orchestral jazz, brimming with passionate improvisations, deliberate contrapuntal melodies and plush harmonies”. Pedro Giraudo has also conducted the world renown WDR Big Band and Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.

Bassist Ricardo Rodriguez is part of the jazz scene in NYC , which embraces the entire scope of contemporary music . Besides being an in-demand jazz bassist , he can be found playing jazz , contemporary music, Afro-Caribbean, folkloric music and pop music. He studied classical bass and composition at the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico. In addition to his work with Branford Marsalis , Joe Locke, Ray Barretto, Ignacio Berroa Quartet , Claudia Acun~a, Magos Herrera , The Wayne Escoffery Quintet, The Rodriguez's Brothers, David Sanchez Quartet, Miguel Zenon Quartet, The Kenny Werner/David Sanchez Quartet and his own Quintet has also worked with Michel Camilo’s Trio , The SNL BAND ( from Saturday Night Live Show ), Arturo O’ Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Donny McCaslin trio ,The 90 Miles Project with Stefon Harris , Manuel Valera Group, Michele Rosewoman, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Samuel Torres band , Vincent Herring/ Eric Alexander Band, Jamie Baum Septet among others.
